Borussia Dortmund Reach Champions League Semi-Finals
Thrilling Comeback Against Atletico Madrid
Borussia Dortmund produced a superb second-half comeback to beat Atletico Madrid 4-2 on the night and 5-4 on aggregate to reach their first Champions League semi-final in 11 years.
After losing the first leg 2-1 in Madrid, Dortmund fell behind 2-0 at home to the Spanish champions. But goals from Marco Reus and Jude Bellingham brought Dortmund level on the night and on aggregate.
Former Manchester United midfielder Marcel Sabitzer then put Dortmund ahead for the first time in the tie with a stunning strike, before Reus completed his brace to make it 4-2 and give Dortmund a 5-4 aggregate victory.
The result was a major upset, as Atletico Madrid were the favorites to progress to the semi-finals.
Dortmund will now face either Manchester City or Liverpool in the last four, with the first leg of the semi-final taking place on April 27.
