2012 Barkley Marathons Results: A Record Year

Race Report by Frozen Ed Furtaw

2012 The Barkley Marathons Race Results 100 Miles 40 Miles 60.

In my opinion, the 2012 Barkley Marathons was one of the most challenging and exciting races in recent history. With three runners completing the full 100-mile course, it was a record year for the Barkley. The race was also notable for the number of runners who attempted the race, with over 100 people starting the event. However, only three runners finished the race, making it one of the most difficult races in the world.

Three Barkley Marathon Runners Went Out for Final Lap

The three runners who finished the race were Brett Maune, Jared Campbell, and John Kelly. Maune was the first to finish, completing the course in just over 60 hours. Campbell finished second, about an hour behind Maune. Kelly finished third, about two hours behind Campbell.

Finisher of the Barkley in 2012, 2014, and 2016

Maune is the only person to have finished the Barkley three times. He finished the race in 2012, 2014, and 2016. Kelly is the only other person to have finished the Barkley twice. He finished the race in 2012 and 2014.

The Barkley Marathons is one of the most challenging races in the world. The course is 100 miles long and includes over 60,000 feet of elevation gain. The race is also run in the wilderness, with no aid stations or support crews. As a result, the Barkley Marathons is a true test of human endurance and determination.
