American Airlines Group Announces Vasu Raja as Chief Commercial Officer

Raja will oversee American's customer organization and global network

FORT WORTH, Texas – American Airlines Group Inc. (AAL) today announced that Vasu Raja has been appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, effective immediately. Raja will oversee American's customer organization and global network, including reservations, pricing, marketing, sales, and customer service.

Raja has more than 20 years of experience in the airline industry. He joined American in 2015 as Senior Vice President of Network Planning and Revenue Management. In this role, he was responsible for developing and executing American's network and revenue strategy. Prior to joining American, Raja held leadership positions at United Airlines and Continental Airlines.

"Vasu is a proven leader with a deep understanding of the airline industry," said American Airlines Chairman and CEO Doug Parker. "His experience in network planning, revenue management, and customer service will be invaluable as we continue to grow and improve our business."

Raja holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
